Frolic is a family of early childhood resources that support children at home and at church as they take their first steps in faith.
Research has shown that what kids learn about faith during their early years will shape how they understand God, themselves, and the world for the rest of their lives. It’s never too early to teach children about God. We believe that Christian faith is essential to early childhood development.
Science tells us that frequently the earliest memories are also the most lasting ones. An example is patients in Alzheimer’s units that can remember songs from Sunday school, like ‘Jesus Loves Me’. These experiences when forged in the first years of life can lay a foundation for a lifetime of faith.”

A BIT ABOUT CHILD DEVELOPMENT
We believe that Christian faith is essential to early childhood development. Young children are philosophers, and are asking big questions about the world and their place in it. Parents are well-resourced with regards to the milestones children reach in physical, cognitive, emotional, language and social development, but are under-resourced for faith formation. Frolic is a way of intentionally engaging and investing in the faith formation that’s already happening. By drawing out the faith connections within and between those other facets of development, Frolic helps lay a foundation for faith that lasts a lifetime. Little Steps. Big Faith.
FROLIC FOR MOPS KIDS
Combines all of the research and development that went into the faith formation classes for churches with the understanding that MOPS Kids is very different from Sunday School! We aim to make your MOPS Kids time fun and meaningful for the kids in your care, but not require you to do any extra legwork. Using the Frolic Online Curriculum as a base, we worked with MOPS Kids coordinators to make the same expertly-developed material work in a MOPS Kids setting, taking into account the unique needs of the many types of MOPS groups.
Drawing out the connections between child development and faith is a constant process, and different for every kid. So, in partnership with MOPS, we created a free monthly personalized newsletter for moms of children age 0-5. These emails arrive on the first of every month packed with age-appropriate articles about each child’s development and tips about early faith formation. Articles on child development, faith formation, and seasonal celebrations are based on the child’s age and the month of the year. Click here to see a sample and share this link with the moms in your MOPS group, so they can receive customized information for their own children.
Frolic books playfully introduce basic faith concepts in a way that’s fun and age-appropriate for young children. Board books combine a child development principle with a faith concept, like a seek-and-find book that helps vocabulary development and at the same time, shows how God is all around us. Picture books use a simple narrative structure to present a common childhood challenge, and each includes a special prayer for children to learn.
Frolic Bibles use child-friendly language that includes a take-away to help the children apply the story to his or her own life and community. Each Frolic book includes a parent page with tips for further exploring faith as a component of daily life. Each Frolic for MOPS Kids lesson is based on a story from Frolic books or the Frolic Bible.
Frolic Board Books
“Little ones learn through pictures and the artwork in these books is simple and bright ... just perfect for them. What I enjoyed most when reading one of the books to two kids in our church nursery was the incredible number of things they wanted to point out on each page. The little details give you so many opportunities to explore and ask questions. Love, love, love these books!”

Hal and the New Kid
“Charming, whimsical illustrations and simple narrative style help make Hal and the New Kid accessible and appealing to young readers. This delightful faith-based series is solid reading for young children. Another title from Frolic that is also highly recommended is Jo and the Slow Soup.”
